(CHICAGO)(February 27, 2009) Yesterday federal judge Milton “Shady Milt” Shadur released former Chicago official Edward Vrdolyak after Vrdolyak admitted participating in a $1.5 million bribery scheme. Today both newspapers led with the same headline “Fast Eddie Walks.”

The media breast-beating has been deafening. “I’m gonna find out what happened here,” bellows one columnist.

So what’s the real Chicago story about the pol and the fixed judge? You’ve come to the right source. The U.S. Court of Appeals once wrote that I would not win a “popularity contest” among federal judges because “[Martin’s] clashes with the appellate and district court judges in this circuit are legion.”

Start with the obvious. When “Fast Eddie” pleaded guilty last year, he knew he wasn’t going to jail. The fix was already in. Fast Eddie knew what the action was before he pleaded guilty.

I first encountered federal judge “Shady Milt” Shadur when he was still a lawyer in private practice.

I was a young law student who assisted newspaper reporters on an investigation into two corrupt judges on the Illinois Supreme Court. Even before my diploma was issued the word out on the street: the Illinois Supreme Court was going to destroy me as an example to other potential corruption-fighters who might expose judicial corruption. The Supreme Court judges launched a vicious and cruel campaign of character assassination against me, because I was too honest, not because I was dishonest.

The Illinois Supreme Court appointed “Shady Milt” to crucify me with a laundry list of false accusations and impertinent investigations. Among other matters, Shadur and his associates in crime were obsessed with my love life, and my sources in Viet-Nam. Even then Shady Milt was doing the biding of crooks.

Shadur eventually received his payoff for service to the Democratic Party when he became a federal judge.

Here we must pause to highlight two great misconceptions on the part of the public and inexperienced and disingenuous media columnists (see above). In the “old days” (when I was still a law student) crooked federal judges could often be dumb. The first Mayor Daley made his own law partner a federal judge, hoping to replicate the Emperor Caligula who conferred a similar honor on his horse. So, yes, the crooked judges were often dumb, and sometimes spoke with a Back-Of The-Yards accent. No longer.

Today the crooks are well-spoken and, as in the case of Shady Milt, well-educated. Mr. Shadur is an intelligent and competent lawyer.

The second misconception about Chicago’s crooked judges is that they are crooks 24/7. Not so. Out of every thousand cases that a federal (or state) judge handles, no more than one is destined for a fixed outcome. A crooked judge can appear to act perfectly normally in the vast majority of cases that come before him or her, and still be as fixed as living sin in the handful of cases where it counts. So it is with “Shady Milt” Shadur. An honest judge by day; a crooked judge by night.

Now we know how and why Shadur released Mr. Vrdolyak with a slap on a wrist, and directed more searing criticism at the prosecutors than the defendant. Vrdolyak was the man who could not testify, and could not be allowed to put forward a defense, because the dirt he would have to dish to defend himself could bring down others. Vrdolyak had to be spared to protect the unknown and unseen behind him. That’s the Chicago way.

Even honest lawyers in Chicago are compromised by the realities of corruption. Today, America’s “liberal hero” judge is U. S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stephens. I testified in opposition when he was appointed back in the 1970’s. Why? Because Stevens had acted as a front for the Illinois Supreme Court in the same corruption case where I was involved, the Klingbiel-Solfisburg scandal.

Stevens allowed the two crooks who had already been revealed to be hanged, while quietly saving other thieves on the court from being exposed. Stevens was rewarded with appointment to the U. S. Court of Appeals (and later to the Supreme Court, though the Supreme Court was not a Chicago favor).

Throughout his judicial career, Stevens was unquestionably an honest judge. Perhaps he was atoning for his sins 40 years ago during the Klingbiel-Solfisburg bank stock scheme where he rescued the careers of crooked judges by opening the grave, and then closing it, without a murmur about all of the other damaging evidence of corruption he had seen.

And so, no, I am not really surprised that “Fast Eddie walked.” Justice has walked the plank in Chicago for decades. I know. I have been victimized by crooked judges on the Illinois Supreme Court, and I have also helped send crooked judges to jail. “Shady Milt” is only the latest slime ball to sit as a judge in Chicago’s federal court. There are more there like him today, and with Obama in power there are many more to come in the future.

“As the fog clears from the 2008 election,” Martin says, “it is becoming clearer that Barack Obama feared me more than any of the other media. His inner circle went ballistic after I appeared on Hannity’s America and presented the first coherent timeline for Obama’s radical associations. Obama trembled when I landed in Hawai’i with the first investigative team and exposed local cronyism and corruption in that state. Obama & Co. did everything they could to stop me. But they couldn’t. I cost Obama millions of votes, and I certainly cost him a bigger margin of victory.

“Starting in 2010, I want to cost him votes in the U. S. Senate.

“The Illinois Republican Party is controlled today by Daley Machine sympathizers, lead by Daley stooge Andrew McKenna, with McKenna’s father pulling the strings behind the curtain.

“No Republican has a chance of winning statewide unless they break the stranglehold exercised by McKenna’s corrupt ‘State Central Committee’ that does everything in its power to destroy Republican candidates. I call on this committee to resign, and I call on Republicans, Democrats and Governor Quinn to enact a law allowing every Republican to vote for the state committeeperson of their choice.

“I will take my campaign to all the People of Illinois, to Democrats, Republicans, independents; to Chicago, suburbs and downstate counties. To everyone and everywhere.

“More than being just local, I have established a worldwide reputation for independence, integrity and accuracy. I will tell the voters what they need to hear, not what Obama wants them to hear. If Republicans want a fighter in 2010, I am their only choice.

“Roland Burris? I have known Roland for over 30 years. He is a good man who has been sullied by the media. If he wants to work on a bipartisan basis for the next two years, he can have my assistance until I become the Republican nominee. But honestly, I don’t think Illinois’ future lies in Roland’s hands.

“Many people thought 2008 was the ‘transformational’ election. It wasn’t. 2010 will either ‘transform’ America into Barack Obama’s Banana Republic, a grander version of Chavez’ Venezuela, or restore America’s Constitution and return the USA to rational domestic and foreign policies.

(CHICAGO)(February 22, 2009) In a few days I will be announcing my candidacy to oppose Roland Burris in 2010. So why am I defending him now? Because Senator Burris has been set up by corrupt Illinois Democrats who are using an imaginary scandal to remove him from office out of growing fear the voters will not remove him in 2010.

Dick Durbin, Harry Reid and the media morons in Chicago are staging a daylight coup against Democracy. And since Chicago’s literally bankrupt media (e.g. the Chicago Tribune) are participants in the coup, there is no one to expose it. Except ContrarianCommentary.com

Burris is guilty of something, however: using inexperienced or incompetent lawyers.

First, the so-called perjury claims are a red herring. You can see how much confidence Democrats had in those allegations when they started mentioning the Sangamon County State’s Attorney is a “Republican.” What? Democrats want a Republican to do the dirty deed and behead Burris? Cowards. Of course, given how stupid some Illinois Republicans are, they may be stupid enough to lop off Burris’ head. Still, I doubt it.

“Burrisgate” sent me back to the law books to check Illinois statutes and case law. The same criminal code I studied as a young law student at the University of Illinois is still there. My memory is not fading. “Materiality” is an essential element of any perjury claim. 720 ILCS 5/32-2. People v. Pawlaczyk, 189 Ill.2d 177, 724 N.E.2d 901, 911 (Ill. 2000).

So “materiality” is the issue. But how could anything Burris told the state legislature have been “material” when it is undisputed that he had nothing to do with Governor Blagojevich’s “sale” of a U. S. Senate seat? Nothing that has surfaced in the past few days even remotely suggests Burris was engaged in “pay to play.” Nothing.

And how could anything Burris said be “material” to a “crime” that has not yet been charged by federal prosecutors, who admitted they needed more time to define the criminal act? Sentence first, verdict afterward, anyone? Bottom line: Burris did nothing that even remotely qualifies as “material” in his impeachment testimony.

Was Burris less than full-throated about his contacts with the Blagojevich team? It appears so. But merely making inquiries about a political vacancy is not a crime, and it is not a conspiracy. The evidence appears to be undisputed: Burris never gave Blago any money and never raised any money during the period of the senate “sale.”

So who’s got the action? What’s really going on?

Illinois Democrats are up to their usual dirty tricks. They don’t want to attack Burris directly, because that would trigger a racial backlash in a state and a state Democratic Party known for racially polarized politics. So Democrats and their liberal flacks in the media have invented a nonexistent, imaginary “crime” and are trying to convict Burris of that “crime” by forcing him to resign. The media in Chicago and Washington have whipped up a mass hysteria to cover the total lack of merit in their rush to judgment against Roland. Whoa.

And the morons who run the Republican Party, led by Daley Machine patsy “Andy McKenna,” are so corrupt or incompetent they are playing along as useful idiots for the liberal media and the Democrats themselves. If McKenna really is a Republican, why is he always advocating a course of action that benefits Democrats? And endorsing candidates that turn out to be patsies for Democrats?

Why?

Ironically, while I do not believe Blagojevich was legally guilty of trying to “sell” an Illinois U. S. Senate seat, it is quite obvious that someone is trying to “buy” the same U.S. Senate seat, namely mobbed-up State Treasurer and Obama sycophant Alexi Giannoulias. What was Dick Durbin doing in Greece with Giannoulias? I don’t think the boys are gay. Rather, they were hatching a scheme to defenestrate Burris so Giannoulias can take his place.

And behind Durbin and Giannoulias is my favorite African-American entertainer, why that old buddy of mine, Ole Man Barry Obama himself. Obama wants Burris out, and he is working behind the scenes to remove him. Burris is getting Obama’s “Becket” treatment.

So is Burris guilty of anything? Yes he is. Incompetent lawyering. Instead of hiring some badass lawyers who know the ways of crisis management, and more particularly the ways of Washington, Burris took his case to the people with a team of lawyers that probably gave him mistaken advice (if I am wrong, let them come out and say so). Burris could have made a “modified limited hangout” and slipped by the legislature. He was handled badly.

I am convinced Burris did nothing remotely wrong in announcing his availability for the seat. I did the same. Did the FBI read my mail?

So will the U. S. Senate remove Burris if Illinoisans won’t? Don’t bet on it. The entire Burris farce is a manufactured musical. Blagojevich was the governor. State law gave him the right to appoint a senator. He did. End of debate.

The demands by Reid and Durbin that Burris “testify truthfully” before the state legislature as a precondition to being seated as a senator had no constitutional significance. Durbin’s posturing was what lawyers call “mere surplusage.” Burris testified because he realized his impeachment “testimony” involving Blagojevich was legally both “irrelevant” (as to his senate appointment) and “immaterial” (as to any issues arising from his lack of completeness on the issue of impeachment).

So, no the U. S. Senate is not going to vote to remove Roland Burris.

Which is why I am hours away from announcing my campaign to run against him as an independent, reform Republican. No, I am not a stooge of the Daley Machine. Andy McKenna hates me with a passion. McKenna’s opposition is a compliment to, and confirmation of, my integrity and independence. The stooge that is being recruited to run against me by definition comes clothed with the McKenna family’s corruption and conniving.

“Let her rip,” Roland. “See you in 2010.”

As for the mainstream media hypocrites that are crucifying Burris based on a nonexistent crime, well, if you want to know what I think of them, just ask.

(NEW YORK)(February 17, 2009) The “sports world” (which must be something other than the real world) is in a kerfuffle because Dubai has banned an Israeli player from participating in a tennis tournament, and may ban other Israeli athletes from participating in Dubai sporting events. Three cheers for Dubai

Unlike the despicable Mubarek dictatorship, that grovels at the feet of its Israeli masters, tiny Dubai has struck a blow for sanity and international responsibility.

The entire world, except for the Israel lobby in the United States and its valets on Capitol Hill, is aghast at the Israeli rampage and slaughter in Gaza. Gaza continues under siege, thanks to the misguided policies of George Bush and a rotating cast of Israeli thugs. Barack Obama has largely rubber-stamped Bush’s policies.

But, because most of Israel’s critics (including myself) are nonviolent, all we can do is protect and condemn Israel in the courtroom of public opinion.

Thus, a complete quarantine of Israeli athletes would be advisable as a peaceful and nonviolent protest against the military junta in Tel Aviv.

For the athletes to claim they are “nonpolitical” is rubbish. Have they condemned the Gaza slaughter? Or did some of them dutifully vote for the Russian mastermind of a new fascist regime in Tel Aviv? We have a right to know.

Forty years ago, Cassius Clay was demonized because he stood up and opposed the Viet-Nam war and said he had “nothing against them Viet Congs.” He changed his name to Muhammad Ali. He paid a horrible price in public condemnation and financial deprivation. But few questioned whether the sporting world had a right to condemn Mr. Ali’s politics.

Likewise, no one seriously questions that boycotts of repressive regimes are an appropriate response to participation in the Olympic Games. China escaped an Olympic boycott last year only by falsely claiming it would respect human rights, and then violated human rights. Many Americans called for a boycott; we were right to do so and had every right to do so.

If we can boycott China and Russia, why can’t Dubai boycott Israel? No nation should be forced to welcome any citizens of a savage Israeli regime that murders women and children and holds an entire people hostage to enjoy the fruits of a stolen homeland. Quarantines are a humane way to impress on the Israeli people that they have no future in the civilized world, and that the same asphyxiation Israelis are directing at Gaza will now be directed at Israel by civilized nations.

Even the Turkish Prime Minister recently called for the expulsion of Israel from the United Nations. Now that’s a boycott.

So, please, Israelis, and please, athletes, do not engage in self-serving breast-beating about Dubai’s peaceful protest. Instead, direct your energies at condemning the genocide against the Palestinian people, and perhaps Dubai will relent and allow you to compete as private citizens and not as citizens of the racist regime in Israel.

If there was any doubt about the violent and racist nature of the Israeli nation, that country voted overwhelmingly a few days ago (in free elections) to place a fascist mastermind who was born in Russia at the pinnacle of power (Avigdor Lieberman).

The day that a neo-Nazi such as Lieberman legally enters the Israeli government, every nation should suspend diplomatic relations with the now formally fascist state of Israel. Maybe that gesture will send a message. Dubai has taken the first step. Who will follow in that tiny nation’s footsteps?

The world has every right to condemn Israel. It is a moral failure that civilized nations have failed to do so.

Three cheers for Dubai.

(NEW YORK)(February 15, 2009) They are dancing in the streets of New York. Barack Obama is selling long-term bonds around the world to help the profligate leaders of New York City and State make weekly payroll and pay lavish pensions to public employees.

But taxpayers in “red” states are the ones actually footing the bill for the “recovery” of bankrupt “blue” states. Obama is looting the red states, where opposition to him is strongest, to subsidize the blue states, where his support is strongest. The result is going to be regional economic chaos.

As a general rule (and there are exceptions) southern and western states are in better financial shape that the “left coast” and “right coast” regions which are primarily under the control of liberal Democrats.

In New York, public employee labor unions were facing the prospect of sharply reduced paychecks, benefits and pensions. Layoffs were becoming increasingly likely. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg was planning billions of dollars of cuts. In Albany, Governor David Patterson was planning similar draconian reductions in spending.

Spendthrift government has become a permanent disease in New York and other “blue” states. Thirty-five years ago, New York City went bankrupt. Today all of the excesses of the earlier 60’s and 70’s eras are returning.

But instead of New York State taxpayers bailing out New York City as they did in the 1970’s, Barack Obama is arranging for red state taxpayers to pay for Gotham’s excesses.

A recent New York Post report disclosed how the fire department was looting taxpayers with inflated “disability” pensions and retirement payments geared to massive overtime in the final year of service. New York and Florida have roughly equal populations, but New York State government spends almost twice as much as Florida (Florida is still a red state, and possibly the last refuge of sane government in America).

Several points are obvious: the Obama administration is stealing our future to subsidize greedy public employee unions in the present. Public employees have become our new “royalty.” Middle class families with shrinking benefits are subsidizing highly-paid public employees who enjoy taxpayer-guaranteed salaries and pensions.

It is easy to say, “The federal government can rev up the printing presses with endless monetary expansion, while states cannot.” But the reality of the current recession is that the entire nation stands on the brink of collapse. Obama is trying to push the United States over the brink as the first step in beggaring our economy and imposing his proletarian socialist revolution.

How can any sane government issue long-term bonds, payable over decades, to pay for weekly and monthly eclectic bills, gasoline, and rent? Why should American taxpayers be subsidizing lavish public employee pensions in New York, Illinois, California and elsewhere? Actually, this is where the heist comes in.

Most red states have stricter limits on spending and debt than the blue states. The states in greatest financial distress are located on both coasts, where unions have extorted pliant politicians into approving lavish salaries, pensions and lifetime benefits, all at taxpayer expense. The solution: raid states that have a more solid financial footing to support the big spenders where Democrats rule and where Republican representation is becoming nonexistent.

So the working families of the red states, where wages and living costs are lower, are being taxed, directly and indirectly, to support the out-of-control public spending in left/right coast states.

Right now, local newspapers are focusing on each state’s “benefits” from the stimulus package. No media are focusing on the long-term costs. But the long-term impact of the so-called recovery program is going to be to destroy, not rebuild, our economy. No one wants to report on who has to repay the money being borrowed to support Obama’s spending spree. We do.

Why is all of this Obamination a “proletarian socialist” revolution? Obama is federalizing vast areas of local government activity. Teacher salaries? How are we going to stop subsidizing greedy teacher unions, the greediest of the greedy, once they get used to federal funding? Impossible. School construction? Likewise, once the federal government takes control, making local authorities responsible again will be an almost impossible challenge.

Since the dawn of the republic, local education has been a local financial and functional responsibility. But today, with “federal funds” will come federal mandates.

During the last election, I was smeared because I exposed the source of Obama’s plans: from the belly of the beast himself, revolutionary bomber William Ayers. What has Ayers agitated for over the decades? Ayers wants Hugo Chavez-style “nationalized” schools where the federal government controls content as well as financing. No dictatorship has ever survived without centralizing power in the national government. That’s Obama’s plan; that is Ayers’ agenda.

Do we need some form of stimulus? Yes. Targeted, limited stimulus is necessary because Wall Street has devastated Main Street. Greedy Wall Street hucksters have looted our economy. But instead of making Wall Street pay, Obama and his liberals in congress are making Main Street pay to rescue Wall Street, not vice versa. In a reprise of the Casablanca scene where the police inspector discovers “gambling here,” tens of billions of dollars were looted from taxpayer funds to support Wall Street bonuses. Then Obama & Co. “discovered” the thievery but said they were “too late” to do anything about the excesses.

Goldman Sachs controlled the Treasury under George Bush through Secretary Hank Paulson, a former Goldman Greed manager. Under Obama’s Secretary Tim Geithner, Goldman Greed is still in the driver’s seat. The faces have changed. The tentacles of control have not.

How can any responsible “financier” justify selling long-term bonds to subsidize weekly payroll? Such a policy is self-defeating and self-destructive. But that is the Obama/Democratic “plan.” Issue long-term bonds so that New Yorkers can endlessly receive weekly payroll subsidies. Insane.

The same is true within individual states with a rural/urban cleavage. “Downstate” Illinois will be subsidizing the Daley Machine in Chicago, with state government control partially neutered and federal funds flowing directly from Washington to Chicago. “Upstate” New York will be subsidizing New York City. Rural California will be subsidizing Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco. Conservative regions will be robbed to support liberal zones, in a classic replay of Robin Hood politics.

Obama is undoing 1990’s welfare reform, so he can pack the voter rolls with welfare “moms” who are dependent on Democratic precinct captains and ACORN operatives.

The entire scheme is going to come crashing down on Obama in 2010.

If Congress does not return to fiscally rational (i.e. Republican) control next year, America is doomed. We need to turn off the spigot of bonds-for-payroll, and stop looting financially responsible regions of the United States to subsidize areas controlled by public employee unions.

Barack Obama says he is powerless to derail the Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi gravy train. But Obama is telling the truth when he says our finances are endangered. The problem is, he doesn’t tell the whole truth. Where is the danger coming from? He himself is the greatest threat to America’s economy. The enemy within.

Part Two of a two-part series

(NEW YORK)(February 12, 2009) Over the past few days, two stories have dominated national news: President Barack Obama’s increasingly irrational behavior concerning America’s serious financial crisis. And the heroics of the US Airways crew and Captain Sully Sullenberger who landed an airliner safely in the Hudson River.

First, a couple of asides. When it comes to collisions with airborne geese, the US Airways crew and I have something in common. One goose almost ended my life. It is a miracle I am alive. In 1980, I was flying in the second seat of the cockpit of a small twin-engine plane as we were attempting to land in Rockford, Illinois. The airport was fogged in, conditions were marginal. The pilot asked me to look out for landmarks. Suddenly, the windshield exploded and the pilot had a bleeding wound.

There was a seat-cushion size hole in the glass. How that canopy vaporized in my face without even scratching me, well that’s a miracle. My girlfriend was sitting in the back with a friend. She was wearing an expensive new dress. I ripped her dress and tore enough of the fabric to make a tourniquet to stop the pilot’s bleeding. We limped back to Palwaukee Airport and landed safely. The goose was dead, but intact, at the rear of the plane.

Second, a couple of decades ago a close friend who was an airline pilot lost his job. I was saddened that it would be impossible for someone of his age to find a new carrier.

But United Airlines was hiring “old” pilots to fly as first officers (co-pilots) with pilots who were being upgraded to captain (pilot) through seniority but lacked real flying experience. In other words, the airline faced the dilemma that some pilots had the seniority but not the experience to be aircraft commanders. My buddy was hired, after being tested for cockpit compatibility, and ended his career at United.

Faced with a conflict between safety and seniority, United Airlines chose both and placed an older, experienced pilot in the “second seat” where a junior officer usually flew.

During the campaign, I was criticized for calling Barack Obama the “best entertainer in the world.” Obama is a great entertainer. Put him in front of a teleprompter and he is flawless. Put him in the real world, without a teleprompter, and he is useless.

Obama came to Florida on Tuesday, and yelled “fire.” He said that “when the town is burning, you don’t check party labels.”

Is America burning?

One of the first things law students learn is that there are limits to “free speech.” Yelling “fire in a crowded theater” is illegal. As a self-proclaimed law “professor,” Obama should be aware of that restriction.

So, is America burning? Collapsing? Are we in the “final days” of a conflagration that is consuming America? I don’t think so.

Obama is trying to trigger mass hysteria using apocalyptic rhetoric because he is afraid. And he is afraid because he is incompetent.

“Entertainers” usually lack the vanity to play the roles in real life that they play on TV or on the silver screen. A “doctor” on “ER” would not walk into an operating theater and perform brain surgery. Likewise someone playing a lawyer in “The Firm” on film would not walk into a courtroom and attempt to represent a client in a lawsuit. Most of us can distinguish between play acting and real life. Obama cannot.

No one has made the comparison, but I will. The contrast between the competence and experience of Captain “Sully” Sullenberger and President Obama is embarrassing.

Here is what Sully had to say about how he arrived at his experience: “For 42 years, I had made small, regular deposits of education, training and experience….And the experience balance was sufficient on January 15th, I could make a sudden, large withdrawal.” http://www.nypost.com/seven/02102009/news/regionalnews/key_for_captain_marvel_154415.htm

Having begun, but not completed, pilot training, I can attest to Sully’s view. You don’t become an experienced pilot overnight. (There are “old” pilots, and “bold” pilots, but no “old, bold” pilots, is a familiar refrain.) And you don’t become a pilot in your imagination.

Barack Hussein Obama, on the other hand, may be America’s first “Walter Mitty President.”

So, ask yourself, could anyone with Obama’s lack of experience be placed in a cockpit as aircraft commander for a major airline? Not on your life. But the American people made Obama “commander-in-chief.” Now we are paying the price of our own stupidity.

Obama is screaming “fire” and trying to scare us into supporting his “stimulus” plan.

Read the cockpit conversations between the doomed airliner and the tower before the plane ditched in the Hudson. Was the pilot screaming? No. Was he trying to scare the passengers? No. Did he lose control? No. He did his job.

Obama is running around the country, burning tens of thousands of dollars an hour in operating costs for Air Force One, trying to bamboozle the American people into supporting a financial “stimulus” plan that is going to inflict further devastation on our economy. Obama doesn’t know how to do his job, and his entertainment talents are not working. There is a real problem in our economy, but we do not face the end of the world if we reject Obama’s nonsensical “solution.”

Bankrupting us to save the United States is reminiscent of the Vietnamese Village of Ben Tre during 1968, when a clueless officer said “We had to destroy Ben Tre to save it.” Obama is not trying to “destroy” America, but he is trying to do away with America as we know it. He wants to impose a form of national socialism, complete with federal control of every aspect of our lives, and brown-shorted bully boys strategically placed across the nation to impose his will on us.

Liberals may have called George Bush “Hitler.” Now they have one of their own to contend with.

Is Obama leading by example? Are the Obamas turning down the lights and eating pb&j sandwiches at the White House one day a week? Not on your life. Michelle is too busy posing for Vogue Magazine. Obama insists on living like Eugene O’Neill’s “Emperor Jones” while he tells everyone else to pull in their belts. When last heard from in Obamaland, Michelle and Barry were spending taxpayer money at the rate of $100 a pound (yes, $100 a pound) for steak. When told that the French people had no bread, the Empress Marie Antoinette is supposed to have said, “let them eat cake.” Barack Obama seems similarly disconnected both from his duties and the American people. He expects to eat cake himself, while asking us to eat, what?

His answer to everything? “I won.” Criticism? “I won.” Competence? “I won.” Only we, the American people, are the losers.

Obama is acting as though he were still “campaigning” and not as though he was actually charged with the responsibility of government. In retrospect, my insight during the campaign that Obama was an entertainer and not a leader was spot on.

Washington is out of control, again. Only staunch Republicans, holding the line against ruinous spending and equally ruinous social policies, saved America from Obama’s “Bill Ayers inspired” socialist stimulus package.

There is only one force that can save Obama in the coming days: the Republican Party. Republicans salvaged Bill Clinton’s presidency. Once Republicans took control of Congress in 1995, Clinton was “foreclosed” from advocating liberal tax-and-spend programs. He was compelled to act in a fiscally and socially responsible manner which is why he may have taken out his frustration on Monica Lewinsky.

Likewise, just days after the Obama clan moved into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Republicans have already reasserted working control of congress. Without Republican leadership, Obama’s crackpot stimulus package would have been even worse than it is.

During the recent campaign I was inundated every day with e-mail from exasperated people asking if the federal government “vetted” presidential candidates. I had to tell them the truth: no one vets candidates but the media and the voters. The federal government does not examine the competency or constitutional qualifications of any candidate. (Parenthetically, that is why so much of the litigation challenging Obama’s “qualifications” for office is doomed to failure; judges are reluctant to undo the democratic process.)

And so the American people are now aloft with a “pilot” that does not know how to fly, and doesn’t know how to land. All Obama knows how to do is scream “fire” in the cockpit and scare the American people into supporting him.

What an embarrassing contrast between the real pilot who landed in the Hudson and the faux pilot who landed in the White House.

If someone today cried out “Sullenberger for President,” Sully would have the common sense and experience, and modesty, to know he is not qualified to serve as president. Sadly, Obama did not suffer from the same self-awareness.

(NEW YORK)(February 12, 2009) America’s great national experiment with affirmative action in the White House is over. Barack Obama is a failure.

Democratic Party bigwig Geraldine Ferraro was the first person to state openly in 2008 that Barack Obama would not have been taken seriously as a candidate for president of the United States if he was a white man. Ferraro was pilloried for her remarks that the media were promoting an African-American candidate for a position for which he was totally unqualified.

During the campaign, Obama constantly played the “race card” himself, while falsely accusing the hapless John McCain of doing the same. McCain might have won if he had presented a coherent reason why voting on the basis of race could endanger the nation. McCain was too incompetent a national candidate to do so. Americans were left to be intimidated by Obama’s claim he “didn’t look like” the pictures of people on our currency.

Those of us who have been victims of affirmative action know what a pernicious policy it is. People are promoted to positions for which they lack training and experience. Obama became our first “affirmative action president.”

The result is what Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker calls an embarrassing “Amateur Hour” in Washington. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/10/AR2009021003098.html

My guess is that Obama’s increasingly demonstrated incompetence will be a serious setback for race relations in America.

Parker notes that people “kept their fingers crossed” when they voted, because Obama lacked a record or a resume of leadership. Voters “tried to pretend [experience] didn’t really matter.”

But the media were intent on electing an African-American, and they succeeded in foisting Obama on the United States at a time when competence, not charisma, was our crucial need.

Of course, I may be labeled a racist by the Obama echo-chamber for raising the issue of affirmative action at this time. Anyone who stands up to Obama risks being smeared by the media, by Obama’s wealthy supporters and by the gaggle of Hugo Chavez-style bully boys that supports Obama. But demanding outstanding experience and demonstrated competence in the presidency is a race-neutral point of view.

The American people are now doomed to endure at least four years of racist-inspired rhetoric from the “bully pulpit” of the Oval Office, from a man who lacks the authority and credibility to speak to the crises we face.

But why were the media obsessed with electing a black? Obsession is not too strong a word. Media refused to investigate Obama’s past, or his convoluted family history. Even today no one has seen Obama’s original typewritten 1961 birth certificate. He has gone to great lengths to prevent the release of that document. What is he hiding?

Likewise, people were afraid to call Obama “Barack Hussein Obama” until after the election, when Obama himself insisted on being addressed with “Hussein” in the middle (John McCain are you reading, or have you already nodded off?).

When I stated the truth, namely that Obama came from a Muslim family background, I was attacked on the front page of the New York Times.

Bill Ayers? More smears from the media. Fox News and Sean Hannity were forced to commit sepukku for allowing me to summarize what was known and unknown about Obama’s links to radicals and extremists. No one wanted to learn the truth about Obama. No one wanted to probe the character and psychology of a man who would be thrust into a position of unbelievable stress and responsibility (more on this in Part Two). Even today, Obama’s supporters deny that his “stimulus package” is a thinly disguised plan to deconstruct America and impose step-by-step socialism on the American people. Bill Ayers is smiling. He could have written Obama’s “recovery” proposal; maybe he did.

When ContrarianCommentary.com’s investigative task force landed in Hawaii last October, we were the first (and so far the only) media investigative team to begin a serious look at who Obama really is. The mainstream media only appeared in Honolulu when Obama went swimming or on “vacation” in luxury accommodations. Otherwise, “please don’t bother us with the facts” was the media’s mantra.

Now we have the real, unvarnished Obama, flailing about, threatening, attacking. Obama turns out to be precisely the opposite kind of person people thought they had voted for. As Parker points out, Obama felt that the White House was too confining, after two weeks. Maybe he wants to head for the surf in Hawai’i again?

I became Obama’s first critic, way back in 2004. He never fooled me. I have never denied “Barry O” is “easy company,” to use Parker’s phrase. He would probably be fun to have as a neighbor. But a national leader? Please. My book, “Obama: The Man Behind The Mask,” was the first to explore the “mask” of Barack Hussein Obama and what it would mean if he was elected. It was all there is broad daylight. But there are “none so blind as those who will not see, none so deaf as those who will not listen.” Maybe America is listening now. Maybe not yet.

Obama fooled the American people. But, most of all, he may have fooled himself. His incompetence is going to set back race relations by decades. What George Bush did to discredit WASPS Obama will do to African-Americans.

Are you ready to throw in the towel and accept Barack Obama as the de facto dictator of the United States? We’re not. The first few days of his “administration” are proving as chaotic and corrupt as we predicted.

The issue of “who” Barack Obama really is continues to trouble many Americans.

The Hawai’i District Court denied my motions in January and this week we need to file a notice of appeal to the Intermediate Court of Appeals. Appeals are costly, and this one will be contested. But my lawsuit remains the only claim filed in a proper court (Hawai’i) with jurisdiction over the proper officials (Hawai’i officials) who have control of Obama’s original 1961 birth certificate.

A lot of people have observed that Obama’s lawyers have spent over a million dollars seeking to avoid production of the 1961 document. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Obama’s opponents. I work for free, as a public service. The only money we solicit is for expenses such as court filing fees, copying, express delivery, and travel and accommodations to appear in court proceedings.

Last year the Hawai’i judge ordered me to appear in court. I had to be there. I will probably have to appear several times to pursue the appeal. Obama has millions of dollars given by his supporters to fight me. Our till for Obama litigation is empty.

1. How you can keep the fight alive to defend the Constitution

During the recently concluded presidential campaign I received an average of one fund solicitation a day from the Barack Obama campaign, sometimes more than one. Senator Obama raised almost one billion dollars this way, to lay siege to American democracy, and he succeeded. He certainly did a far better job of raising money than his opponents did.

His unofficial opponents have only received infinitesimal amounts. Obviously, the financial disparity between a billion dollars and chump change is why Obama was able to make chumps of the American people. We were never able to raise the money to fight on a level playing field.

I hate to raise money. By nature, I focus on writing and political action, not financial solicitation. But if we are to continue our mission in the days ahead we will need your support.

2. Who we are

The Committee of One Million to Defeat Barack Obama was created to act as the fundraising arm and treasury of the anti-Obama movement. Filing lawsuits, taking the fight to remote locations such as Honolulu, keeping track of the national situation and staying in contact, costs money. Freedom isn’t free and, with the inauguration of Barack Obama, it just became a lot more expensive.

We had hoped to begin a series of national conversations to keep alive anti-Obama efforts. But due to lack of financial support we were forced to cancel a South Florida meeting in January, and we will probably be forced to cancel a tentatively scheduled California meeting in March. There is no “Air Force One” to cover travel costs for Obama’s opponents.

3. Who I am

I am an independent editor/columnist and serve as the Executive Director of the anti-Obama movement, the www.StopObamaCoalition.com, and the fundraising arm, the www.CommitteeofOneMilliontoDefeatBarackObama.com

Just over forty years ago, as a young law student at the University of Illinois, I walked into the Champaign County, Illinois courthouse and filed my first public interest lawsuit. Crooked judges and politicians were looting the property of an elderly couple that had died without leaving wills. I was appalled. The local newspaper attacked me for exposing corruption and advocating public integrity.

Since that first case I have had occasion to file a large number of public interest cases exposing greed, fraud and corruption in public life all across America. As a result, I have made a huge number of enemies in the federal and state courts and legal profession. Judges, lawyers and the politicians they serve like to keep things quiet and out of sight. I believe in bright sunlight where public policy is concerned.

With the advent of the Internet I became Executive Editor of ContrarianCommentary.com, hosted a radio talk show and began exposing Barack Obama to the world.

Being a watchdog is a thankless task. But I appreciate the opportunity to fight to keep the system honest.

I am very proud of the efforts we have made over the past several years to tell the truth about Barack Obama to the American people.

4. What we do and what we plan to do in the future

I first began exposing Barack Obama’s hidden family history and secret agenda over four years ago.

During the recently concluded campaign, I worked tirelessly to expose Obama and to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of his opponents. I am totally nonpartisan in that regard. I do vote Republican, but I write impartially and follow the facts where they lead.

I led the first investigative team to land in Hawai’i. We were subsequently followed by other writers, mainstream media and by Obama himself. We broke the story of his real biological father. In Honolulu, I filed the pending lawsuit to open Barack Obama’s original, 1961 typewritten certificate of live birth to public inspection. I forced Hawai’i officials to confirm such a document existed, thereby embarrassing Obama and the mainstream media who had denied its existence.

Senator Obama is proposing frightening totalitarian solutions to our problems. For example, his plan to create a national “civilian” internal security police circumventing the FBI and military is just plain scary. Mr. Obama may adopt Castroite and Chavista approaches to discouraging dissent and maintaining internal control in the face of public opposition to his administration.

But it should be obvious that without adequate resources we cannot respond effectively and creatively to the threat posed by Obama and his supporters to the very foundations of our nation.

Consistent with the limited resources available to us, we continue to do the best job we can to protect the American people from Barack Obama’s predatory policies and politics. (CHICAGO)(February 6, 2009) Is Nadya Suleman going to cash in on being a crackpot with a brood of children paid for by taxpayers? I hope not. All of us should promise to boycott any media that pay this mental patient for engaging in what amounts to premeditated child abuse.

Suleman is a poster girl for what is wrong with current Democratic Party efforts to impose national heath care, “Obamacare.”

First the psychiatry, then the politics:

It appears that “normal” doctors had some role in Suleman’s bearing of 14 children. The babies were born at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.

In the 1960′s and 70′s, many people thought Kaiser Permanente was a new and improved form of medical care delivery that reflected “the future.” Today that institution appears to reflect what is wrong with the practice of medicine.

How could any sane doctor use IVF to impregnate an insane woman who was unmarried and had six children by an anonymous sperm donor, adding more children to a brood that was already beyond her capacity to manage? What kind of “managed care” is Kaiser providing?

Ms. Suleman’s voluntary statements to NBC News reflect severe mental problems. People do not go out and bear 14 children to compensate for their delusional versions of “dysfunctional” childhoods.

Suleman was apparently impregnated through in vitro fertilization (IVF) at a time when she was unemployed and receiving disability payments for, of all conditions, back problems. Back pains are one of the most common complaints of women with normal pregnancies. For someone who is “disabled” with a back problem to be receiving IVF treatment amounts to medical malpractice. Are the doctors at Kaiser Permanente as brain dead and mentally ill as Ms. Suleman?

Now the politics.

Almost every American agrees that we can and should improve the American health care “system.” We especially do not want genuinely needy individuals to suffer consequences from inadequate or denied care.

But Suleman is a classic reflection of just why health insurance costs so much, and why any Democratic Party-sponsored plans are doomed to failure: Suleman imposed massive financial burdens on Kaiser Permanente to satisfy her own ego deprivation and mental instability. Someone has to pay. Kaiser will have to absorb the costs of Suleman’s idiocy. Rates will rise.

The problem with health insurance today is that legislators act as regulators, and impose all types of “mandates” on insurance companies and medical providers. The result: we do not have a real “health care” system or “medical providers.” In many instances we have a financial system that is structured to satisfy the individual vanities of persons without any medical needs whatsoever. “Mandates” are added to insurance policies by legislators responding to political pressure. Since the legislators do not have to pay the costs of endless mandates, the system becomes more and more bloated with unnecessary or voluntary procedures and treatments.

IVF is something that has become commonplace in coverage. Originally, many people may have thought, “That’s a good idea, helping couples seeking to conceive.” Now we see the consequences. Deranged women cranking out 14 babies at what is unavoidably public expense.

Suleman is also imposing massive costs on the bankrupt State of California. Already unable to pay for the expenses it has agreed to incur, California must now house and clothe 14 children with a parent who, by her own admission, is unable to work, disabled, depressed and obviously mentally unstable going forward. As a matter of law and common sense the children are neglected.

Should the media bail out Suleman?

I hope every and any American would boycott media that pay a nickel to this crackpot mother. She has engaged in a scheme of premeditated child abuse. There is no way a single person could remotely care for and provide for 14 children.

What about her parents? How long are they going to allow their tiny home to be used as a baby menagerie for their crazy daughter? What did they tell her when she kept impregnating herself by her anonymous “friend.” (Indeed, what kind of a friend would repeatedly inseminate someone who was obviously crazy?)

The Suleman fiasco is a tragedy for the children, a tragedy for California taxpayers and a disaster for “Obamacare.” Her behavior exposes the fundamental weakness in proposed “reforms.” The changes sought by Democrats would create a financial calamity by allowing people to increase the social and public costs of health care to the point of collapse.

Democrats in every state they control have proven themselves unable to abstain from burdening insurance companies with an expanding laundry list (Christmas tree?) of “benefits” that insurance companies are required to provide. The result: people who try to live rational lives end up subsidizing people who are mental cases and incapable of making rational decisions.

No insurance program that is structured to deliver an endless list of mandates can survive on a national basis. No doubt there are other maniacs such as Suleman out there waiting to mimic her lonely life by breeding a baker’s dozen of babies. At your expense.

Here is what a sane society would do:

1. Immediately declare both the babies and her other six children wards of the state. That way officials can seize and control any money that finds its way into Suleman’s hands. Otherwise, some greedy media will pay her, and she will be free to use the cash for new crackpot ventures. Once the children are under judicial and state supervision, her ability to conduct new schemes will be more limited.

2. Open an inquiry into why the hospital staff allowed this outrageous scheme to proceed, and impose a severe punishment on both the doctors who participated and Kaiser Permanente as an institution for inadequate medial supervision and peer review of IVF procedures.

3. Adopt statewide and nationwide policies to prevent a reoccurrence of this tragic situation, removing IVF procedures from mandated health insurance coverage and imposing restrictions on who may receive IVF treatments.

4. Admonish every legislator both in Washington and in state capitals that Suleman is a gross and disgusting example of what happens when politicians extend health insurance mandates to cover voluntary, vanity medical procedures such as IVF.

In a rational medical system, no one would be able to engage in objectively psychotic behavior and impose massive costs on society. But with our current “welfare” and future “health care” situations, that is precisely what some people are allowed to do. Suleman is obviously mentally unstable, as well as a child abuser. Her behavior is a classic example of what happens when permissive politicians try to mandate care and coverage that has no basis in emergency or life-saving medical treatment.

If Suleman is the poster girl for uncontrolled impositions on health institutions, Obamacare is DOA.
