Conference updates:

1. Obama invited to attend or participate in conference

We have invited President Obama to attend or participate in the Conference. Because he will be outside the United States he would obviously have to send a representative. A copy of the letter inviting the president follows this update.

2. Taping and recording the conference

One person is already making arrangements to tape the conference, for later editing and broadcast on the Internet. Others have also expressed a desire to tape, edit and post. If you wish to videotape or audio record the conference please let us know in advance. As of now, we don’t see any problem with multiple cameras or tape recorders. If you want to donate an AV PA system, please do.

3. We need money; please send

Because registrations will be coming in up to March 31st, we have no idea how many people will be attending. The nominal $10 registration fee will not cover the costs of increasing our space in a major hotel three blocks from the White House.

Dear President Obama:

I am writing to invite you to attend the National Conference on Barack Obama’s Missing Birth Certificate and College Records.

You are of course welcome to send an aide or representative in your stead.

While it may seem unusual to invite you to attend a meeting questioning your provenance and college records, I believe there are good reasons for you to want to participate. Our invitation reflects that the conference is open (subject to nominal registration requirements) to the public. It will probably be recorded and broadcast on the Internet. Our conference will be devoted to searching for the truth and facts, not devoted to personal attacks.

I note, parenthetically, that out of all of the persons who questioned your qualifications in 2008, I was the only one that you sent Mr. Gibbs out to attack by name. I consider that testimony to the fact that I was using fair and impartial scholarly research techniques to search for the truth. My research and writing probably cost you millions of votes, although it did not cost you the presidency. I certainly cost you a bigger landslide. And I am not going away. I am working on a second book, pursuing my litigation and energizing my research, all with the spirit of openness and honesty that has always been my hallmark over the decades.

Finally, while the “mainstream media” have declared you a ”natural born citizen,” it is undeniable that a significant number of Americans have rejected the media’s preemptory diktat. My guess is that the number of “Doubters” is far larger than you or your media acolytes care to admit. The mainstream media make fun of the people they call “birthers,” but as I point out below in this letter these citizens are merely “Doubters.” There is room for doubt. I know it and you know it.

Since you yourself have said you are devoting attention to non-traditional channels of communication, I would think you would want to quell rumors and suspicions. “Doubters” include Democrats, Republicans and independents.

As you are no doubt aware, I have pending litigation in Hawai’i seeking access to your original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate. Why not surprise everyone by sending someone to the Conference with a written, notarized authorization directing Hawai’i officials to release that document? It would show a spirit of openness and confidence on your part that has been lacking in the past. And what about access to the college records?

I met David Axelrod over 30 years ago, when he was still working for a living at the Chicago Tribune. Your media advice is in capable hands. Nevertheless, given that you are physically in the White House, it would seem to me you would want birth and college information released at the earliest opportunity. That’s my opinion.

Here are details about the conference in case you wish to confirm your appearance or the appearance of a representative:

1. Location

We have reserved a room at the Capital Hilton to serve as our headquarters. That will act as our initial point for meeting and information. The Capital Hilton is located a short walk from the White House at 1001 16th Street, NW, just in case we decide to march or demonstrate.

2. Conference agenda

The Conference Agenda and all of the other information concerning the conference is posted on our blog, www.NationalConferenceOnObama.blogspot.com. We are updating as new information becomes available.

3. All are welcome—but please bring evidence, not illusions

Anyone is welcome to register and attend. But if people want to express theories, we are requiring them to bring some rational, tangible evidence to support their claims about you. Why not trump all of this speculation with a bona fide gesture of generosity on your part?

4. Confronting your Doubters

The Easter story tells us that Jesus returned to his followers, but the Apostle Thomas was absent. Thomas demanded “proof” of the Lord’s reappearance. Jesus then reappeared and told Thomas to touch his wounds. If the Lord himself was forced to confront doubts about his authenticity, who can say that doubts about your absent original birth certificate and college records are inappropriate? Aren’t you strong enough in the spirit, yet, to confront your own “Doubting Thomases?” or “Doubting Americans?”

As a lawyer, writer and political reformer I have always had but one polestar: the truth. In a spirit of truth-seeking I extend a warm invitation for you to participate in our conference.

(NEW YORK)(March 30, 2009) Over three years ago I proposed that General Motors file for bankruptcy. No one was listening. Last November, I renewed my suggestion.

GM executives thought a government bailout was preferable to bankruptcy. They are living to regret that strategy.

Sunday (March 29th) the “knock at the door” came for GM. Barack Obama announced he was effectively taking over the company by dismissing GM CEO Rick Wagoner. I am no admirer of Wagoner.

GM previously claimed “no one would buy a car from a company in bankruptcy.” Does anyone believe that people are going to buy cars from a company controlled by Barack Obama? Richard Nixon must be smiling. No one would buy a used car from him.

According to the New York Times, Wagoner was not “forced out.” He was just “asked to leave.” Yah sure. He was paid to go, and he was paid to keep quiet. Wait and see.

Today (Monday) Obama announces his “rescue plan” for GM and Chrysler. These companies would be better off filing for bankruptcy Monday morning and thumbing their nose at Obama.

Obama, of course, has an “auto task force” (New York Times). That “task force” is assuming effective control of GM without due process of law and without the supervision and intervention of an independent judge. Is this what American business has come to?

In bankruptcy, all sides would be forced to follow established procedures and timetables. There are strict laws and rules barring improper influence and secret dealing. In Obama’s “court” there is but one law, and that law is the rule of the Emperor Obama.

Is there any doubt that under Obama’s maladministration GM will be paralyzed and eventually populated by political commissars? That the very eventuality GM sought to flee, bankruptcy, will ultimately arrive? There is no doubt at all. None whatsoever.

General Motors faces two problems: inflated wages and benefits, and federal laws mandating the sale of high-mileage cars. Labor is not going to surrender without a fight, no matter what Obama says. Likewise, companies need to build what they can sell, not what bureaucrats order them to manufacture.

The auto crisis reflects a classic situation where “free market” principles are infinitely preferable to rule-by-bureaucrat.
Some people want small cars. They should be free to buy them from auto companies that are free to sell them. I want a large car, not a teakettle. I should be free to buy one without the company being penalized for selling me what I want. I trust the marketplace more than I trust Obama & Co.

My sympathies are with the men and women on the shop floor, not with the big shots in the executive suite. Ordinary hourly workers have been betrayed at every level of leadership. I may be a Republican, but I am a pro-labor Republican. I believe in supporting working families. Wall Street’s hedge funds looted America. Now, as the nation lies prostrate, Obama’s maggots are seeking to devour the carcass.

Workers are suffering. Tax cuts are not the solution for the automobile industry. Free markets are. Paychecks are. Freedom of choice is.

Bankruptcy would offer GM management a considerable measure of control. The claim that no one will buy a new car from a bankrupt company is nonsense. Some people won’t. But I wouldn’t give the issue a second thought.

In any event, GM’s analysis was and is flawed; sooner or later, the company is going bankrupt. Labor and capital, workers and investors, are not going to walk away from their claims without a fight; that fight will have to be conducted in a court of law, not in Obama’s private chambers.

The “new” GM and Chrysler will be somewhat different from their predecessors. Wages and benefits will be equalized with foreign-owned plants. American workers will become more competitive, not less, in a bankruptcy process. Left alone, Obama, who was elected as the champion of labor, will ultimately deal a death blow to the UAW. No surprise there, either. By law courts must protect the interests of all stakeholders, not just creditors.

Whether GM acts prudently, and files for bankruptcy Monday, or delays the inevitable while it dithers with bailout funds for a few more weeks, makes no different in the long run. People worked hard to acquire their jobs, benefits and creditor claims. They are not going to surrender their stakes without a fight. In America, fights of this type are sorted out in a bankruptcy court, not Barack Obama’s back pocket. Stakeholders are entitled to a free and open courtroom, not the closed doors of a politically-appointed “task force” accountable to no one.

So, File the Bankruptcy Petition! I can understand why Obama wants to play games with America’s economy. I can’t understand why GM’s management is playing along with Obama’s suicide pact. Rick Wagoner should have told Obama take a jump. Instead, he wimped out and quit. Great leader, he.

Truthfully? Labor will do better under a straight bankruptcy. And so will lenders and investors. And so will every American.

I don’t care whether Mr. Wagoner’s job is saved, or not. But anyone with a sliver of common sense should see bankruptcy is the only option; government bailouts are ultimately going to destroy and dismember, not save, GM and Chrysler.

Why am I right? Because a bankruptcy filing by GM’s management would call the government’s bluff. Obama wants to appear to be a “friend of labor,” even though he is not a friend of labor. The bailout process is not transparent; by its very nature the “auto task force” is the type of secret organization that U.S. Senator Robert Byrd has been railing against. The “task force” appears to be beyond the control of congressional oversight. Only in open court can the parties fight out their differences and arrive at a solution that leads to recovery or liquidation.

If GM managers don’t have the guts to make the tough choice and file for bankruptcy, they will all be replaced, one by one, by Obama’s commissars. Sunday, the knock at the door came for Rick Wagoner. Who’s next?

I was right in 2005 when I published my pioneering analysis of the automobile industry. I am still right.

MOTION TO EXPEDITE APPEAL

1. Although appellant is proceeding pro se and is not an expert in Hawai’i appellate procedure, he does have considerable experience with appellate tribunals.
The instant appeal poses an important question of national public policy and historical inquiry: should Hawai’i officials be required to make available for biographical research and scholarly inquiry the original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate of President Barack Obama?
2. Appellant has written one book on Barack Obama, Obama: The Man Behind The Mask, which is (or should be) part of the record on appeal, has conducted extensive original research in Hawai’i and is preparing to author a second book on the president. Appellant in sponsoring a national conference on missing records involving the president, www.NationalConferenceonObama.blogspot.com.
3. With all due respect to the district Judge, it is difficult to see how a basic historical record, the original “ribbon” copy of the birth certificate of the President of the United States, can or should be concealed from scholarly inquiry or the American people.
4. Appellant has been in contact with the Hawai’i Attorney General and that office opposes expediting this appeal, see attached.
5. Because there is a time lag between filing in this Court and Appellant receiving Notice, he does not know if the record on appeal has been filed yet. In any event, the record is due to be filed or has been filed.
6. This appeal represents review of a straightforward question of law. There was a single hearing in the district court; on information and belief there were and are no disputed questions of fact.
CONCLUSION
Most respectfully, Appellant asks this Court consider the historical significance of this litigation, and to enter an order setting an expedited briefing and argument schedule.

Conference updates:

1. National media interest continues to build

Both conservative publications and mainstream media are expressing increased interest in the National Conference scheduled for April 3-4. “This is the first time an organized, coherent attempt has been made to schedule a meeting, and discuss and debate the issues concerning Obama’s birth and ‘eligibility’ issues,” stated Executive Director Andy Martin. “The conference will be under a firm hand, mine, so while there will be free and open commentary there will not be abusive language or delusional ideation. People are welcome to their opinions, as long as they can point to some tangible information or evidence to sustain them. No one is going to be allowed to suggest Obama is made of ‘green cheese’ or something similarly silly. Obama has left questions about his provenance wide open; we want to have a serious discussion, not a comic book session. I have written one book on Obama, and I hope to write another. I am planning to appear before a Hawai’i intermediate appellate court when my appeal seeking access to BHO’s birth certificate is heard. I believe we should maintain the highest standards of decorum.”

In the coming days we will be updating and supplementing our material on the blog. We are looking forward to an exciting exchange of ideas on April 3-4, with a “Big Surprise” scheduled for April 4th.

2. Please reserve early (see #3 below as well)

We originally planned the Conference on a very limited budget. We scheduled a central location at the Capital Hilton, three short blocks walk from the White House. But the space we have paid for is very limited. Please register early if you plan to attend, because the sooner we know how many are attending, the better we can do space planning. We may have a small crowd, or a large crowd. We have no idea as of today. I did a call-in program yesterday; interest in the Conference is high and growing.

While we are nominally accepting “same day” registrations ($25 per day with photo ID) there may not be any space available at that point.

3. We need money; please send

Because registrations will be coming in up to March 31st, we have no idea how many people will be attending. The nominal $10 registration fee will not cover the costs of increasing our space in a major hotel three blocks from the White House.

4. Conference recording and “dress code”

We have been told someone will attend the conference and record the proceedings for editing and broadcast on YouTube.com. If you do attend, “casual” clothing, please. No t-shirts and beach attire. Obama’s media “bots,” such as Politico.com, have tried to make fun of people who question his origins. We want a serious discussion, not a shouting match. We will have a special “bullpen” for left-wing media crazies such as the New York Times, MediaMattersforAmerica and other Soros-financed anti-American organizations.

5. Reminder, again

April 3-4 is one of the busiest tourist weekends of the year in Washington. If you are coming from out of town, make early plans.

6. “The Agenda”

We did our best to create a comprehensive initial draft of the Conference Agenda. If you have suggestions, please make them early so they can be incorporated in drafts that are distributed in advance to media and conference attendees.

7. We are inviting President Obama to attend

We will be issuing an invitation to President Barack Obama to attend, or send a representative.

(NEW YORK)(March 24, 2009) The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and metropolitan RTA raised fares earlier this year. There were protests but the public was generally stoic. That’s Chicago for you.

Wednesday the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) in New York is set to vote on fare increases for the New York City region. The Chairman of the MTA calls the fare increases “horrific.”

The chairman is full of baloney.

It would be helpful if public officials stopped lying to the people, and started telling the truth. Public transit is not “free.” It takes money, a lot of it, to provide quality service.

New York, of course, is a laboratory for what “public theft” has done to transit. When you operate a capital asset such as a transit system, the network generates tremendous wear and tear. Maintenance and depreciation are relentless. If you under-invest in maintenance, eventually the system collapses. In effect, by keeping fares below the actual cost of investing and maintaining the system, one era of transit riders engages in “public theft” from subsequent generations.

New York kept the transit fare at a nickel for decades. The result: transit was destroyed. The system could not support itself on a nickel fare, and collapsed.

Rescued by the creation of the MTA in the 1960′s, public transit went on to collapse again in the 70′s. The “transit noir” of the 1970’s may excite film aficionados, but riding the subway then was a dangerous exercise.

Eventually a second “rescue” was orchestrated in the 80’s and 90’s. Billions were spent to undo the damage of decades of deferred maintenance. But little new investment was made. NYC subways operate with an ancient signal system. The Second Avenue Subway has been under consideration for eighty (yes 80) years.

As subway service in New York improved recently, politicians were at their usual perch, proclaiming the need to “save the fare.” What hypocrisy. Subways are still substandard and still primitive by modern standards. And still former Governor Eliot Spitzer bragged that he had “saved the fare.” The more things change.

If you actually ride the subway, as I occasionally do, you see advertisements, from the MTA no less, bragging about how low the subway fare is! The MTA says the real (i.e. economic) cost of the subway fare has declined by 50% over the last two decades. Is it any wonder people expect something for nothing?

Since the MTA is right, real fares have decreased, the transit system has been under-investing for the past two decades even while pretending to be doing the opposite. As the refurbishments of the 80’s wear out, the subways again face potential collapse.

So why is the MTA chairman saying reasonable fare increases—which are still too low to cover the real cost of providing quality transit service—are “horrific?” H. Dale Hemmerdinger should be telling the people the truth: public transit is a colossal bargain in New York, Chicago, Washington and most American cities. Fat chance Hemmerdinger will spill the beans.

Why am I right and Hemmerdinger is wrong?

First, the MTA has been an abject failure at keeping wages in line. Subway workers want to retire after a short working career. They want higher wages and benefits. No one is willing to hold the line on salaries. Payroll skyrockets.

Second, providing urban railway service is a colossally complex and expensive enterprise. Even today, after the so-called refurbishment that is now decades old, subways are primitive. In London, signs announce the time between trains (the same service is provided in Washington, DC). New York? Nope. Too advanced for New Yorkers. (Londoners also pay substantially higher transit fares.)

Third, the subway system has not grown with the city. The Upper East Side (UES) used to be a genteel, but small, part of Manhattan. Then the old ethic neighborhoods adjacent to the UES were demolished, and the “Upper East Side” expanded by more than a hundred blocks. Those blocks saw the construction of dozens of new high-rises (and millions in new real estate tax dollars to support city services). The result: the one subway line serving the UES is a nightmare. There is no way to describe an UES rush hour today. People are packed in Tokyo-style.

As a little boy, I remember the day the “Third Avenue L” stopped running, to be replaced by a Second Avenue Subway. That was in the 1950’s. Even then, SAS was already decades behind schedule. Now a stripped down SAS is under construction.

I remember when the CTA’s 63rd Street L’s terminated in vast wastelands on the South Side of Chicago (pre-Obama). Today the South Side is resurgent, and dependent on the CTA for rapid transit. More than twenty-five years ago, Chicago welcomed a transit line to O’Hare Airport. The CTA then neglected to maintain the tracks for decades. The result: last year CTA trains were crawling to O’Hare. A major municipal embarrassment. The CTA Blue Line received “emergency repairs.”

Today the CTA is underinvesting again. Every urban transit system is. They won’t tell their riders the truth: transit costs money.

The desire for “free” transit is not limited to the subways and buses across America. Politicians constantly promise that which they cannot deliver. During the presidential election, every Democrat promised “quality” and “affordable” health care. No one would say who would pay. When pressed, the candidates would claim that computerizing patient records would yield sufficient savings to cover the increased cost of more “free” health care.

The MTA wants to offer an “unlimited ride” fare card for $103. It could be used on an unrestricted basis across the entire subway and bus system for an entire month. If you assume that someone only went back and forth to work 20 days a month, the “unlimited” cost of a round-trip to work would be barely $5. If you use an unlimited card the way most people do, you will get close to a hundred rides out of it every month, actual cost a little over $1 per ride. This is too much? In 2009? For unlimited access to a massive urban railway and bus network? A “horrific” fare increase?

Hemmerdinger would really scare people if he told them what the real expense of providing transit service is, on a fully-costed basis, with adequate investment in maintenance and expansion. Now that would be frightening to most people. They would have to face the “horrific” reality they are getting a bargain.

There is no way to expand “quality” and “affordability” at the same time. Politicians lie to the public when they make such extravagant and unattainable promises. Sadly, voters love it. Who wouldn’t love the promise of a free lunch?

Free lunch? Maybe that’s next.

In the meantime, the increased fares in Chicago and New York are not “horrors” as Mr. Hemmerdinger suggests. They are still insufficient to fund a solid transportation system for two great cities of the world. Tell the truth Mr. Hemmerdinger. At least some people will believe you.

Repeat after me: there is no free lunch. And no “free” way to provide quality transit.

Mr. Hemmerdinger, on Wednesday when you vote to raise fares, please, pretty please tell people the truth. “Fares are still much too low to provide quality transit for today and tomorrow.” And please stop placing ads in the subways bragging that the real cost of transit fares has decreased by 50% in the past two decades.

The meeting will explore the current state of efforts to obtain access to Barack Obama’s original records. Executive Director Andy Martin says interest in the first national discussion devoted to historical research on Barack Obama’s identity and personal history continues to grow. “Obama is no longer hiding his personal information,” says Martin. “He is hiding the raw material of American history.”

(NEW YORK)(March 22, 2009) Where to begin? OK, let’s try. When they are running for office, we expect our candidates to go virtually anywhere, say virtually anything and even spoof themselves in the process.

We expect more of a president.

The “oval office” has an enduring mystique because it is not open and accessible. Even in a democracy we know there are some lines the public does not cross.

Obama may have inadvertently crossed a barrier when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Barack Obama ran a brilliant campaign for the presidency. He was well organized, focused, disciplined. What happened to him? Since he actually moved into the White House he has been stumbling.

During the campaign, and after Obama’s appearance in Berlin, I dubbed him the “World’s Greatest Entertainer.” If that’s the role he really wants, he is well on the way to attaining it. There is no doubt in my mind that when Obama leaves the White House he will make a fortune by, well, entertaining people.

Would Ronald Reagan’s master handler Michael Deaver have allowed the Great Communicator to go on an entertainment show during his White House years, during a major national crisis? I doubt it. Reagan’s roles and his appearances were always carefully scripted to enhance, not diminish, his mystique and prestige.

I often watch the first segment of the Tonight Show. Leno has better writers than Letterman. His jokes are lighter and delivered with a lighter touch. But I rarely stay tuned for the nightly presentation of actors and wannabes who are peddling some TV show, movie or other venture. It’s all very repetitive and very boring.

My experience in radio and TV goes back 41 years. I produced my first program in 1968. You learn something in four decades, and sometimes you learn the basic principles over and over again. TV has a flattening impact. People on TV lose their mystique when they appear in public in a pre-formatted program such as The Tonight Show. On that program, Jay Leno and Barack Obama are equals. In fact, it is Leno, not Obama, who is in control. Right message? I doubt it.

That is why late night hosts try so hard to obtain unique guests and create unique experiences. Even loyal viewers get bored and feel stale watching the same endless procession of promoters. Does anyone remember the “marriage” of Tiny Tim on the Tonight Show? I can understand why Leno wanted to attract Obama as a guest. No doubt there.

But why would a president want to be there?

Not surprisingly, the event turned into a disaster. Before the show even aired, Obama’s aides were issuing apologies to the “handicapped” community. The funny thing is, if they had just kept their mouths shut, the entire episode might have been largely overlooked and forgotten. In trying to “manage the news” and minimize his slip, Obama actually created more news than would have been generated if he had just said nothing.

I watched the show. The “Special Olympics” remark slipped by without a great deal of attention. It was a throwaway. Leno ignored it. Had Obama not apologized-in-advance, the impact of his mistake would have been marginal.

The mainstream media, of course, tried to gin up the event as a “fireside chat for the flat screen age.”

Obama’s appearance was nothing of the sort.

First, Obama cannot escape who he is and where he sits. He cannot escape the national crisis that challenges our democracy because he helped to inflate and magnify that crisis during the campaign and since taking office. For Obama to go on TV and act “bemused (N. Y. Times)” deprecates the seriousness of the overall situation facing our economy.

Secondly, the term “fireside chat” is being misused and overused. When President Franklin Roosevelt delivered his “fireside chats,” radio was in its infancy, less than a decade old in widespread use. Large parts of the nation were completely isolated. The public was still in awe of “wireless” communication. People were not saturated with news and information.

Contrary to V.P. Joe Biden, TV had not yet been invented as a mass medium in 1932; scientists were just beginning to toy with the concept of TV in their labs. The modern world was still in the sci-fi stage.

The comparable entertainment medium to The Tonight Show today might have been vaudeville entertainment in 1933. FDR never appeared on a vaudeville stage to hype the New Deal. On the contrary Roosevelt, like Reagan after him, was very judicious in his personal appearances. He did not want to dilute the magic of the presidency.

Obama placed himself in the context of being just another huckster on late-night TV, with a new “program” to sell. Wrong message.

In January, 2008 I pointed out that Obama was helpless without a teleprompter; in my view he was the “teleprompter candidate.” My analysis was prescient. He is vulnerable without prepared remarks. Obama is brilliant at delivery but he is very poor as an extemporaneous speaker. The “Special Olympics” remark, however innocent and innocuous, destroyed any benefit he may have hoped to obtain from The Tonight Show gig.

Where is all of Obama’s zigzagging leading? The TV bobbleheads are absolutely correct on this one: Obama’s personal popularity will endure, for now. But public support for his programs is collapsing. In 2010, the American people are going to shut down the Obama experiment. His shtick is almost over.

Obama is losing touch with his inner media compass. He was a master at extravagantly promoting himself as a candidate. But he doesn’t yet realize that the “man” cannot portray himself as a mere mortal. The next time he tries to connect with the American people he will find that he is not taken seriously; after all, he’s only the world’s greatest entertainer. If he doesn’t treat his own role with gravitas, why should we?

On Jay Leno, the joke was on Obama. Rush Limbaugh must be smiling.

National conference to ask why Barack Obama is hiding his original typewritten birth certificate. Andy Martin: The American People want answers. Why is Obama concealing his original birth certificate? Why won’t he make his college records available to researchers for scholarly review? The National Conference promises a “big surprise” on April 4th. The first national meeting on Barack Obama’s missing college records and original birth certificate will convene in the nation’s capital April 3-4. The Conference releases a proposed agenda and registration forms.

Dear Friends:

The National Conference on Barack Obama’s Missing Birth Certificate and College Records” is taking shape. Here is our first update.

1. Location

We have reserved a room at the Capital Hilton to serve as our headquarters. That will act as our initial point for meeting and information. The Capital Hilton is located a short walk from the White House at 1001 16th Street, NW, just in case we decide to march or demonstrate.

2. Hawai’i freedom of information materials

We received a very generous grant to cover the costs of paying the State of Hawai’i for freedom-of-information materials. We hope to have some or all of that material available for review at the conference.

3. Conference Registration fee and ID requirement

Our initial thought was not to require a registration fee. However, we need some advance indication of how large the attending group could be to make space-planning decisions. Therefore, we have added a nominal $10 advance registration fee. The door charge will be $25 to attend one or both meetings. Please fill out the attendance form and mail it back with the $10 to arrive in New York before March 31st. Please include a copy of a photo ID so we can confirm your identity when you arrive at the conference. (The late fee will be $25 cash only “at the door” with a photo ID.) Once we know how many to plan for, we can work out how formal or informal to be.

4. Conference agenda

With this cover letter you will also be receiving the first draft of our proposed agenda. You are invited to submit suggestions, comments and proposals for any future revisions.

We do have a big “surprise” planned for the conference, of course. That will be revealed at the Saturday morning session.

5. All are welcome—but please bring evidence, not illusions

Anyone is welcome to register and attend. But please, if you want to express a theory, bring some rational, tangible evidence to support your claims about Mr. Obama. Those of you who know me know I am committed to only working with accurate information and, as we lawyers say, “reasonable inferences drawn from the available facts or available documentation.” Pie-in-the-sky will not fly.

6. Security

We will have adequate arrangements for security in case Obama’s desperate sycophants try to disrupt us.

7. Media

Media are welcome, but we would suggest you let us know in advance. We will be providing twitter.com updates during the conference (twitter.com/AndyMartinUSA).

8. Out of town visitors

Just a reminder: April 3-4 is one of the biggest tourist weekends of the year, so hotel rooms are at a premium. We have already noticed a tightening of availabilities. If you plan to stay overnight, we suggest you make early plans.

We will be issuing updates of this letter, so please feel free to make suggestions.

And please also remember we operate on a shoestring, so contribute any shoestrings you can afford. If the turnout exceeds our expectations, the registration fee will not cover reserving a larger space on one of the biggest tourist weekends of the year.

a. The prospects for future birth certificate litigation(submissions on pending or prospective lawsuits). (We encourage you to bring copies of pleadings and other court filings.)

b. The birth certificate controversy: why does it matter?
(Andy’s hint: When Obama was viewed as invincible, the mainstream media did not want to ask questions about his past. Now that Obama is increasingly being seen as shell shocked and pockmarked, more and more people will demand answers to questions about who Obama “really is.”

c. The “Big Surprise” of the conference
