Foreign policy expert Andy Martin says Bill Clinton’s conflicts may be undermining the war on terror

September 5, 2012

Conservative blogger and Internet Powerhouse Andy Martin provides an explosive insight into former president Bill Clinton’s potentially improper influence over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy agenda. On the eve of Bill Clinton’s nomination of President Barack Obama, Andy uses his foreign policy experience to expose how and why the U. S. Government is paralyzed as it struggles to declare the obvious: that the Haqqani Network in Pakistan is a terrorist organization. Andy suggests that Bill Clinton’s “global initiatives” include subliminally influencing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to “go easy” on Pakistani-related terrorists.

As former President Bill Clinton prepares to address the Democratic national Convention, Conservative blogger and Internet Powerhouse Andy Martin says Bill Clinton’s foreign policy conflicts may be undermining the war on terror

Andy says Clinton conducts “his own foreign policy” that can be at odds with broader American national security interests

Andy says he cannot understand why Hillary Clinton is delaying a declaration that the Haqqani Network is a terrorist organization–unless Bill Clinton’s own agenda and plans are in conflict with the obvious need to confront and destroy a terrorist organization.

Andy says the U. S Government has never before faced “foreign policy conflicts” with the “foreign policy of a former president”

(CHARLOTTE, NC) (September 5, 2012) As former President Bill Clinton prepares to nominee President Barack Obama for reelection, Conservative blogger and Internet Powerhouse Andy Martin accuses Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of being “overly sensitive” to President Clinton’s “foreign policy interests” as she delays a decision formally declaring the Haqqani Network a terrorist organization.

“What should be a no-brainer is a cliff-hanger,” Andy says. “Why can’t Secretary of State Hillary Clinton simply declare the Haqqani Network a terrorist organization? I think she is overly sensitive to President Bill Clinton’s independent ‘foreign policy’ conflicts of interest.

“After leaving the White House, the Presidents Bush (#’s 41/43) have largely stayed out of the policy spotlight. Bill Clinton has done the opposite. Clinton operates his own independent foreign policy through his ‘global initiative’ and related foundation activity. Hillary Clinton may be overly sensitive to the conflicts between Bill Clinton overseas interests and the impact that a terrorist designation would have on Bill’s ‘foreign policy.’

“Bill Clinton has a ‘foundation’ with 1,300 employees and activities in 50 countries (link below). He is obviously affected by actions of the State Department. American foreign policy officials have never confronted a situation where a former president runs what is virtually his own private ‘State Department’ and private foreign policy after leaving office.

“For people who had doubts about Bill Clinton, and who have doubts about Barack Obama’s current foreign policies, the Democratic Party two-step over whether to designate the Haqqani Network a terrorist organization is confirmation that Clinton and Obama are virtually ‘palling around’ with terrorists.

“No, Bill Clinton is not socializing with the Haqqanis; but both he and Hillary are much too deferential to Pakistani thugs in the Pakistani government who use Haqqanis to kill Americans and innocent Afghans and to destabilize Afghanistan’s reconstruction. Why can’t Hillary Clinton state the obvious? Why is she engaging in euphemism and circumlocution (see below) about ‘steady pressure’ on the Haqqanis? Is Hillary telegraphing she is afraid to designate the Haqqanis a terrorist group because of Bill Clinton’s foreign policy conflicts?

“Bill Clinton is unique among former presidents in that he retains an active network of foreign policy interests long after leaving the White House. Clinton’s ‘Global Initiative,’ which Hillary plans to join after retiring from the State Department, has policies and interests that can come into conflict with American foreign policy interests.

“Haqqanis have been orchestrating chaos and killing Americans with the connivance of Pakistani officials. Secretary Clinton’s stated reluctance to insult Pakistan may in reality be an unwillingness to create a chasm–of reality–between U. S. foreign policy and security interests, and the Clinton family’s ‘global’ agenda.

“I don’t want to deny Democrats their convention hoopla. But Americans watching at home should look behind the curtain of pomp and circumstance and ask why one anti-American president, currently in the White House, asked another anti-American resident, long out of the White House, to nominate him for reelection. Why does Obama need to be prodded by Congress to make a declaration that the Haqqani Network is a terrorist operation? Perhaps the conflicts of interest of Bill (and eventually Hillary) Clinton offer the best explanation.

“The Clintons are putting their own agenda and their own interests ahead of U. S. Government efforts conduct the war on terror. Some things change; the way the Clintons do business never changes. It’s all about them all the time. Even when American lives are being jeopardized by their tap-dancing around the issue of naming the Haqqanis as terrorists. The nonsense excuses that ‘peace talks’ with the Taliban might be jeopardized by shutting down the Haqqanis is an insult to any experienced foreign policy analyst.”
