Honolulu news conference – Is President Barack Obama obsessed with homosexuality?

May 14, 2013

Obama author and investigator Andy Martin will hold a global news conference by telephone from Honolulu Monday, May 13th to discuss President Barack Obama’s potential obsession with homosexuality. Andy wrote the first investigative column about Barack Obama nine years ago; Andy’s “Psychological Profile” of Presidential Candidate Obama in 2007 has proven to be a prophetic analysis. Andy is in Honolulu continuing and updating his psychological profile of the president for a new book, “The Search for Obama.”

New Hampshire author Andy Martin questions whether Barack Obama has an obsession with homosexuality

Andy says President Obama’s latest actions raise questions about his view of same sex relationships

(HONOLULU, HI) (May 13, 2013) A Forward From Andy:

Aloha from Hawai’i where I am winding up my latest research into the life of President Barack Obama. I am working to pull together my columns for a new book, “The Search for Obama.” Whether you like or dislike President Obama, his existence is a fact of history that must be respected. While my partisan opposition to President Obama is well-known, I have also continued independent scholarly research on Mr. Obama since 2004. I attempt to scrupulously separate my political opinions from my scholarly opinions. Whether you agree or disagree with my views, my independent research into Obama-the-man has forced the mainstream media to focus on Barack Obama’s personal life; I am a “watchdog” who is not afraid confront media propaganda about Obama (please see Group Link #1).

With today’s news conference we enter a new zone of psychological profiling: how and where did Barack Obama develop an apparent obsession with homosexuality?

I returned to Honolulu to research Obama’s personal history only to find a debate about whether Hawai’i U. S. Representative Colleen Hanabusa is sufficiently pro-homosexual (please see Link #2; there is a pay wall). I checked my hometown newspaper, the Union Leader in Manchester, New Hampshire, and “homosexuality and the Boy Scouts” is the heading (please see link #3). Are same sex issues so important that they must command this relentless attention from society?

I want this email/column to initiate a civilized inquiry. If you disagree with my views please feel free to do so; but don’t pound on me for expressing my own tentative and ongoing conclusions. I continue trying to look into President Obama’s mind for some indication of what makes it tick.

Normally I present my conclusions at the bottom of a story. In this case I want to provide my views at the beginning: (1) there is no direct evidence linking Barack Obama to homosexuality; (2) there is abundant circumstantial evidence that Obama has had some form of same sex experiences.

“Circumstantial evidence” is not nearly as strong as direct evidence. But depending on its reliability, circumstantial evidence is still evidence and it is routinely received in judicial proceedings.

1. Homosexuality: genetic condition or lifestyle choice?

In my opinion you can make the case that homosexuality is both a genetic condition and a lifestyle choice. Whether you are a homosexual is most likely (I am not a scientist) determined genetically, at birth. But how you decide to live your life as a homosexual is definitely a lifestyle choice. I can think of several common variations: (1) men who married despite homosexual orientation, to mask their sexual orientation, particularly in the past when homosexuals were “closeted;” (2) people, men generally, who live the “bath house” lifestyle with causal sex; (3) people who choose to live a celibate or nonsexual life; (4) people who live in committed same sex relationships which mirror traditional marriages; and (5) persons who are not homosexuals genetically but may become involved in “gay” games or play, particularly during college years and some military services.

Conservatives are reluctant to declare homosexuality “genetic” because a genetic source might trigger “civil rights” issues.

2. Obama’s “Hawaii’ years”

Some writers have suggested that “Barry” Obama, as he was then known, was sodomized or engaged in homosexual acts with Frank Marshall Davis while Obama was a teenager in Honolulu (see links #4 and #5 below). I found Obama’s poetry somewhat creepy; but using a poem as an insight into the author’s state of mind is a matter where you can be your own expert (see link # 5). On balance, I credit the circumstantial claim that Obama had some form of homosexual experience while living in Hawai’i.

3. Obama in Illinois

Obama’s Illinois years are fertile ground for controversy and conflicting opinions. From the time Barack Obama entered Occidental College until he entered the White House there was no publicly available information about any Obama “girlfriends.” David Maraniss discovered two women in Obama’s past but they were very cautious about their disclosures.

When I came to Hawai’i in 2008 people were afraid to talk. Questions about Obama’s Hawai’i years prompted fear in the eyes of local residents. Only now that Obama is no longer a candidate are Hawaiians opening up with more details about Young Mr. Obama.

The Internet is full of claims that Obama along with Mayor Rahm Emanuel were members of a homosexual club in Chicago. There are claims that murders of parishioners at Trinity United Church of Christ were Obama-related. All of these accusations are on the outer perimeter of circumstantial evidence. I do not expect we will receive more definitive information until Obama is out of the White House.

One man contacted me and claimed to have had sex with Obama in Chicago. When I refused to print his story, he attacked me online. And so it goes.

I think it is entirely proper to discuss “gossip.” But I maintain a very high standard before making accusations: I will not lodge a claim about Obama’s personal life (as opposed to his political activity in the White House) unless and until I have evidence which is sufficiently believable that I would feel comfortable presenting it to a federal judge.

4. Obama the candidate

Obama-the-candidate took what was still a “conservative” position on same sex marriage. He supported civil unions but did not endorse full homosexual marriage.

5. Obama the president

Recently I had lunch with friends in Palm Beach. One friend disclosed that he had a homosexual son. The next day I went to dinner with other friends. Another friend disclosed his own lesbian sister. We have reached the point in our society where tolerance and acceptance of same sex relationships allows people to disclose information about relatives whom they formerly kept “closeted.” That trend will not reverse itself. Openness will continue to expand, to the point where even closeted Republicans such as Senator Mark Kirk will feel comfortable disclosing their sexual orientation.

In other words, while President Obama may be unusually focused on homosexuality, there is no denying that there was already a tide of openness about same sex relationships before he entered the White House. So is Obama “surfing” for political profit with gay issues, or is he just allowing social attitudes to take their course? The issue is debatable.

In his first term Obama moved carefully on homosexual issues. He came under criticism from homosexual activists for his caution. Now that Obama is reelected his support for homosexual rights has become more visible and active. Just recently, he phoned a basketball player to “congratulate” him for disclosing his homosexuality. It is not clear why congratulations were in order. Obama’s use (or misuse) of his limited presidential time to congratulate homosexuality also stirred a backlash.

Obama’s Justice Department has been active at the U. S. Supreme Court in seeking to undo the “Defense of Marriage Act.” Obama has also come under pressure from other Democrats such as Vice President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton who have become vocal in supporting same sex rights.

So, is my heading “Obama’s obsession” a fair one? I think it is. Something is afoot when the president of the United States calls a basketball player to congratulate him for disclosing his sexual orientation. In my opinion, such action by Mr. Obama is fairly characterized as “obsessional.”

6. What does the future hold?

Looking back over decades of political activism I can’t member when a peripheral social issue generated as rapid a change in one political party as the issue of homosexuality has for Democrats. Today the Democratic Party in congress is almost completely lined up in support of homosexual rights; no diversity of opinion is allowed.

While congressional Republicans continue to have closeted homosexuals in their party, such as Illinois Senator Mark Kirk, the party contains both pro and anti-homosexual viewpoints. The Republican Party’s national platform still adheres to the “traditional marriage” point of view.

My own state of New Hampshire reflects a mixed view of same sex issues. When they controlled the legislature (General Court), Democrats legalized homosexual marriage. But when Republicans regained control, they were unable to repeal gay marriage. Same sex marriage remains legal in New Hampshire and will continue to be legal. Likewise, this weekend’s Union Leader story on the Boy Scouts reflects mixed views on homosexual participation.

As a constitutional conservative I think people ought to be able to make decisions about same sex issues at the state level, where family law issues have been centered for over 200 years.

Will Democrats continue to enjoy a virtual political “monopoly” on support from homosexuals? Doubtful. Both parties will adjust and change to meet the realities of changing social mores. Socially liberal and socially conservative voters will eventually coalesce to adopt policies which find general acceptance. That is the reality of what happened in New Hampshire. We are a “conservative” state on some issues, and a tolerant state on others. Other states are more liberal or more conservative as the case may be.

The lesson learned from the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision is that when social policies are imposed from “on high,” people often oppose those impositions at the local and state level. Although Americans are undeniably one nation for purposes of national defense and economic prosperity, we are an extremely diverse nation when it comes to local lifestyles. That diversity should be respected. Longstanding biblical theology should also be respected.

In closing, let me say that I will continue to study this cluster of issues and issue my own statement on same sex marriage some time in June or July.
